Dermal Fillers
Wrinkle reduction or augmentation with dermal fillers has got to be one of the fastest ways to see the change you desire. These products are designed for instant gratification, introducing natural or synthetic ingredients beneath the skin to smooth lines or add volume where it has been lost. For the most part, patients have a very good idea of what their final result from treatment will be when they leave the office. However, because slight swelling may occur, a small degree of change should be expected over the course of a few days.
Neurotoxins
Perhaps a better way to describe a neurotoxin is like this: Botox. This is the most popular product name in the neurotoxin category. However, Dysport and Xeomin also function in the same way as the Mother of all Injectables. The purpose of treatment is to reduce lines and wrinkles caused by dynamic expression. Every time you frown, laugh, or express yourself through facial movement, your muscles are learning. Eventually, most of us notice that the muscles we use the most stop relaxing when we want them to. This means frown lines, crow’s feet, worry lines, and more. Treatment with Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport will diminish signs of aging quickly, but not immediately. The full effect of treatment occurs within about a week.
Kybella
One of the latest injectable treatments to grace us with its presence is Kybella, the enemy of the double-chin. Because Kybella is an injectable procedure, there may be a perception of expedited results. Patients should expect swelling quite a bit before they should expect to see better definition along the jaw line. Kybella destroys fat cells, but it takes time. Anywhere from 1 to 4 sessions may be needed, which can span over a few months’ time. But, oh! The wait is worth it!
Lip Plumping
Lip plumping falls into the dermal filler category, but it deserves its own mention because the lips are such a prime facial feature. With the strategic use of a soft tissue filler, you can enjoy instantaneous volume that lasts for months.
