Upper and lower eyelid surgery

Cosmetic eyelid procedures (blepharoplasty) can help improve your self image and address complaints of appearing tired. These surgical and non-surgical procedures can correct hanging upper eyelid skin and lower eyelid bags. Eyelid procedures can be focused on only the upper or lower eyelids individually or combined for total peri-orbital rejuvenation. Eyelid surgery is as well safely combined in facial rejuvenation surgery, including brow lifts, facelifts or cheek lifts.
Upper eyelid surgery generally involves removing excess skin, as well as repositioning the upper eyelid margin to correct a droopy eyelid. In the female upper eyelid, it is generally combined with a brow lift to elevate and address the tired appearing upper face. Botox and filler injections can compliment these procedures, and simple upper eyelid surgery can be performed in the office under local anesthesia.
Lower eyelid surgery can take on many forms which can be individualized based on patients’ complaints and facial analysis. It can involve removal of excess skin, fat repositioning and muscle tightening. Laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels can as well be performed for lower eyelid skin tightening.
All of these procedures are offered by Dr. Trussler, who has advanced training in facial cosmetic surgery. His goal is to take the time to guide you through the many choices so that you leave the consultation with a clear, individualized and safe plan for your eyelid procedure.
